Book Display System / Installation

Program in Hellenic Studies, Princeton University Summer 2008

The book cover display system is designed to showcase the many publications of Princeton Univeristy Hellenic Studies affiliates and fellows. The two display walls located on opposite sides of an entrance corridor aim to evoke an understanding of a history where the superimposition of knowledge and ideas creates an alternative holistic composition or story. A layered plexi-glass wall system will hold representations of book jackets that at times become transparent to reveal secondary and tertiary layers of book jackets behind. Like layers of an ancient fresco, the build up of tangiable knowledge and research defines the materiality of the representation.
