Installation: Through Passage
Princeton University School of Architecture Thesis Spring 2009
This is a house whose space is generated in passage through time. To understand it one must embark upon a journey not unlike that of narrative: First-off, narrative is ephemeral, it only exists in the moment when one actively engages. Second, there is no exterior to a narrative, it is inherently an interior experience; when one chooses to participate, one is within and never without.
In this sense this project is a container of multiple narratives, brought to it by each viewer and occupant. By forcing the viewer to literally occupy the space of the installation, he is compelled to engage in the space that unfolds within and around him.
