Monastery of St. John Prodromos Serres, Greece
The following illustrations were completed for the Princeton University Program in Hellenic Studies, Mt. Menoiekeion Seminar, in 2007 and 2008. The seminar, hosted by the community of Hagios Ioannis Prodromos nunnery, provides an environment for research and scholarly work concerning the history of this Byzantine monastery. The illustrations completed aim to document the present condition of the monastery as well as tell a story of the monastery's religious, economic and socio-political place in the region today.
